Foggy Bottom

Saturday, January 19

I've been at this long enough that I'm probably repeating myself...but, that's ok. I've got a post titled "Foggy Top" and one called "Fogged In" but no "Foggy Bottom" until now.

We've had oppressive fog in town for the last 10 days. That means temperature inversion. More specifically, it means 30s in town and 40s+ and sun up at the mountain.

The view from home.

  The view from Eagle's Flight.

 Dylan hits the log ride.

The snow in the woods is closer to gnar. How quickly things change--it snowed 20" last week.

Well, it sure was nice up there today. Great to get out of the fog and see the sun. The conditions were pretty spring-ish and we had to leave early for Dylan to get to work. So...we missed the best part of the day.

Anyway, I'll take a powder day over this any time. Looks like we'll have to wait until next week, or the next major storm track. That's how it works. You just have to be ready when it comes. Unfortunately, it will probably come mid-week when I have a bunch of stuff scheduled and won't be able to bail on work.

Ahhhhhh. This all reminds me of the Soggy Bottom Brothers, so I'll leave with that.
